The morning after Cedar Point, I headed to the awards ceremony still glowing with pride. Since I got there ridiculously early (per usual) I hung out down in the retail tent watching other athletes come purchase their finishers jackets. While I was waiting, my eyes drifted towards the table of shiny objects in the middle of the room. “Ooooh, TriBling,” I thought, “so, so pretty….” I have seen TriBling around for awhile and have always oohed and aahed over their designs.
Imagine my surprise when the owner, Susan, came to find me upstairs a few minutes later. She congratulated me on my win and offered to let me pick out a piece of my choosing! Shiny triathlon themed jewelry? My dream come true!
For those of you who haven’t yet seen TriBling, you should. TriBling creates a series of necklaces, pendants, and even cufflinks all based around a triathlon-themed design. That design represents gliding through the water, spinning the gears of the bike, and pounding the tread of the shoes.
TriBling makes pendants of different sizes and styles, from a bead-like pendant to the dime and quarter-sized pendants. They also offer both a traditional silver chain to colored rubber chains (which are perfect for our salty, chlorinated lives!)
I settled on the Talisman with a black cord, which is the smallest pendant they have. I love how it looks feminine yet tough at the same time, and it really goes with almost any outfit.
What I love best about TriBling is that unlike other triathlon jewelry I’ve seen, it doesn’t represent a specific brand (cough, mdot, cough). Instead, it represents all the hard work you’ve put into your training. It’s a visual and tactile reminder that even though by day we might stuff ourselves in suits and high heels, by night (or dawn) we are sweat flinging athletic demons.
TriBling is a fantastic gift idea for triathletes of all levels—a great way to show someone your support in all their training (boyfriends, husbands, girlfriends, partners and wives, are you listening?). And with the holidays here before we know it, this is a perfect gift idea. So go head over to TriBling and see for yourself!
